Mawi Fall 2012 collection: Gothic chic

Mawi, a London based European jewellery house has launched its new fall 2012 collection that promises a Victorian come back that incorporate elements of gothic chic ness by showcasing darker hues of gemstones and metalwork.

This new fine costume jewellery collection explores new techniques and craftsmanship of pairing different gemstones with different types of materials that are not conventional when it comes to fine jewelleries, making it unique with its own identity. These pieces are inspired by architecture and sculptures that pushes the boundaries between traditional aesthetics and futuristic conceptualizations that transcends the past, present and future. These pieces are statemental that could ultimately become another prize for a fine costume jewellery collectors.

Key pieces in the collection include the Cobra Chain Bangle which is plated in either rose gold or hematite with textured edges surround the entire bangle. It is set with a ruby and emerald coloured crystal gems and spikes that retails for $415. The Dynasty Fuchsia Triple Cluster Necklace will set you back $500 and it features a silver chain necklace with three fuchsia crystals with impeccable detailing on the chain such as circular beads and a crystal spider web like designed on the central regions.

The Heirloom collection this season takes inspiration from vintage estate jewels with royal influences those reminiscence fine jewelleries that were passed down from one generation to the other. The Panther Bangle for example is a new addition to this collection that features a textured gold-plated bracelet with a panther head design embossed with ruby coloured crystals encrusted with a large emerald coloured gem in the centre.

Leaf motif and Oval gemstone earrings also feature large emerald coloured stones that are surrounded by smaller crystals and retails for approximately $300. Truly the new fall 2012 is one not to be missed as it stands out from the other jewellers with its strong accents of dark colours and combinations.
