Haas Brothers help design home collection for Versace

In the past few months, we have seen fashion houses unveil more items into their Home and Décor collection, for example Louis Vuitton revealed a new collection of furniture and travel accessories for the Design Miami Fair, while earlier this year in January, French fashion houses Hermès and Christian Lacroix also revealed their latest tablewear collection.

Last month, Versace unveiled a whole new range of tablewear collection for their Home and Décor segment, and now the Italian fashion house has collaborated with LA-based artists and designers, The Haas Brothers to unveil its new Home collection.

The Haas Brothers, Nikolai and Simon Haas, have created a 12-piece collection for Versace Home, including iconic pieces such as the Donatella Chair. Creative Director, Donatella Versace gave them the freedom to take the classic motifs of the house and create something pioneering and new. The result is a range of pieces grounded in tradition while looking boldly to the future.

The highlight of the entire collection has to be the Donatella Chair, which encapsulates the mood of the collection, together with the glamourous rock ‘n’ roll spirit of Donatella herself. It is made from honeycomb brass with black leather upholstery; the chair pays homage to the craftsmanship at the heart of Versace, with it being hand-crafted by the Haas Brothers.

Other pieces in the collection include The Stud Club, an armchair inspired by both Donatella’s personal style and The Bondage Bench, a provocative piece that plays with the sexuality of fashion and design, inspired by the ‘Bondage’ collection of 1992 designed by Donatella’s brother, Gianni Versace.

“I am thrilled by this special design project by The Haas Brothers for Versace Home. They have captured the spirit of Versace, and taken us somewhere new. To me, it is like remix of Versace, one that has resulted in new iconic pieces for the home,” says Donatella Versace.

The Haas Brothers added “As artists and designers, meeting Donatella and exploring the world of Versace was an incredible inspiration. For this furniture collaboration, it was important to us to interpret the purest elements of Versace in order to create something completely new and unusual. We are so proud to present this collection for Versace.”

The Versace Home collection designed by Haas Brothers can be seen in Milan at the Salone del Mobile and soon will be available at selected Versace stores or via online.
