07 August 2012

Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has secured a partnership with Universal Pictures for The Bourne Legacy, the latest addition to the Bourne movie franchise. The new film is due to air in theatres globally on August 10, 2012, and the move to partner another summer blockbuster will reinforce IWC’s reputation as a trailblazing brand that celebrates passion for film making. This will also see IWC go head to head with another heritage Swiss watchmaker Omega that is due to launch its 007 Seamaster when the new James Bond film Skyfall debuts in November.

The watch will be featured on the wrist of lead actor, Jeremy Renner’s character Aaron Cross who will wear is the IWC Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph edition TOP GUN, which exemplifies the thrill-seeking lifestyle of a former elite agent throughout the movie. The watch is encased within a 46mm black high tech ceramic with the crown, push-buttons and back covers made in titanium.

The watch will be powered by the in-house 79320-caliber movement used in the Big Pilot’s Watch series. One thing for sure is that this partnership with Universal Pictures and The Bourne series will continue to bolster one of IWC’s best selling Big Pilot series and seal the Swiss watchmaker as one of the elite watchmakers in the world.
